Marnie Waxman Waxman, LCSW

LCSW-R
New York City NY
I offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical. Using a body-focused, relational approach, called AEDP I provide the psychotherapeutic portion of the Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, working with you to process your experience with the medicine. KAP and AEDP are complementary modalities that are very effective when used in conjunction with one another. Before we begin working together, we’ll set up a time to chat to make sure that we’re a good fit and that AEDP is right for you. If so, we’ll schedule your session. During our sessions, we’ll work somatically—you’ll tell me what you’re feeling in your body, and I’ll help you unpack the emotions and memories connected to those feelings. Throughout our work, we’ll process your feelings to help you leave behind shame, grief, anger, despair, and trauma, and gain a deep appreciation for your many strengths. You’ll develop a profound understanding of your core self, be able to form healthier relationships, leave behind toxic people, heal old wounds, and live a more rewarding life.
Marnie Waxman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Brooklyn, NY. Marnie specializes in helping individuals whose past experiences of trauma or abuse impact their ability to live comfortably. Her clients suffer from anxiety or depression that leaves them feeling empty or unfulfilled, despite multiple attempts at making changes in their lives. She has extensive experience working with those who have past traumas, as well as those within the LGBTQIA population. Her goal with clients is to help them establish an identity that feels authentic to who they are and to reduce the impact of shame, stress, or insecurity. Marnie’s approach to therapy is somatic and relational. She uses cutting-edge therapeutic modalities, such as Accelerated Experential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and a deeply supportive approach to help clients make rapid, lasting change to live their happiest lives. AEDP is a somatic approach to therapy that focuses on the present, encouraging you to notice sensations in your body in order to access core emotions. With deep care and support, Marnie will work with you to process those emotions and address feelings of shame, anger, or sadness, so you can better know and accept yourself. KAP is a cutting-edge modality that combines the use of medical Ketamine with psychotherapy to help clients access unconscious feelings and beliefs. It helps you access powerful emotions and past traumas, often swiftly bringing about lasting symptom relief and profound breakthroughs, eventually guiding you to your best self and a more rewarding life. Marnie earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Hunter School of Social Work. She has over twenty years of experience working with clients from various settings. She enjoys building a strong trusting therapeutic relationship with her clients, from which comes empathy, compassion, and gentle guidance.
