Psilocybin Retreats for Facilitators & Clinicians
Psilocybin Retreats for Facilitators & Clinicians
Training Description
Welcome to our sanctuary for those who dedicate their lives to helping others: A healing space created just for doctors, therapists, facilitators, caregivers, and other providers.
Join us for six days of connecting with like-minded peers, replenishing yourself, and rediscovering self-care. Supported by the ancient medicine of psilocybin and our confidential container, this retreat was created for us, by us.
This retreat also qualifies for optional practicum hours for psilocybin facilitators-in-training. Please mention on your application if you’d like credit hours! Those taking the retreat for practicum credit will be paired with one another and will have the opportunity to practice facilitation directly with each other under the supervision of one of our expert staff.
Pre-approved for practicum training hours by various Oregon-licensed programs, including the Changa Institute, Inner Trek, and Subtle Winds. It’s also pre-approved by Synaptic Institute for externship hours.

*NOTE for those taking the retreat for Practicum Credit:
Every practicum student in attendance will get at least two chances to take the medicine, and at least one (sober) opportunity to facilitate another’s healing. Practicum students will only facilitate for one another; other guests will be supported directly by RTH staff only. Practicum students will also be required to lead one or more group activities (eg: yoga, chanting, guided meditation, etc.).
The Medicine:
- Three dosing sessions will be offered over the course of the week. Most students take the medicine twice and facilitate once.
- Typically half of the students dose on Day 2, while the other half of the students provide facilitation support. On Day 3, the roles reverse (and we switch up the dyads). On Day 4, most students typically take the medicine during the group ceremony, but some opt to support instead. There’s no pressure to decide now; once we are all together the right choice will arise.
- We welcome all dose ranges – from microdoses to heroic ones. Instruction in lemon tek, boosters, and other techniques will be provided and demonstrated. We do not enforce any upper limit on dosage, making this retreat a good choice for those who have never “broken through” before, or who are on medications that may blunt the effects.
- We limit the group size to ensure potency and individualized care: our maximum capacity is 16 guests per retreat. We aim to have at least 1 staff member per 2 guests during dosing sessions.
Temazcal Ceremony:
The traditional Mexican sweat lodge is called Temazcal. The ceremony held within the womb-like space of the temazcal connects us not only to nature, but also to the ancient Mesoamerican traditions of the land. The heat from the volcanic stones of the temazcal is thought to promote physical healing and well-being.
Through breathing the aromatic steam of medicinal herbs, singing, and sweating, we experience purification and spiritual renewal. The temazcal also gives us the gifts of community and shared rituals, fostering unity and connection.
Leadership Opportunity:
As we co-create our container of transformation, each participant (that’s you!) will have the opportunity to lead an activity.
Don’t worry – we create a judgement free space for you to refine your skills and practice talking in front of a group. This retreat is a safe space for embracing imperfection and overcoming fears.
Opportunities include leading a morning movement session, a guided meditation, sharing a poem, teaching the group a song, smudging everyone before ceremony, playing an instrument, etc.
Integration:
Integration helps us organize the information and emotions accessed during ceremony. Integration allows us to make the most sense and meaning out of our experiences, so that we don’t have to keep running back to the substance itself for guidance.
That’s why we have group integration the day after every medicine session.
Reflecting upon our experiences helps them more fully transform our lives. In an understanding, supportive, and confidential container, we provide the space that is all too often missing in the default culture.
