Adriana is a registered social worker and mental health therapist based in Toronto. She currently provides in-person therapy at CBT Associates and online therapy at Mind Beacon. She is licensed to provide services in Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. Adriana is the founder of the Toronto Alliance for Psychedelic Therapy – a non-profit organization in support of the legalization of psychedelic-assisted therapy, psychedelic research, and sensible drug policy in Canada.
Adriana holds a Master of Social Work degree in health and mental health from the University of Toronto. She specializes in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and primarily works with adults who struggle with anxiety, panic, mood-related issues, and post-traumatic stress. Adriana has also received training in psychedelic harm reduction from the Zendo Project and recently completed a two-day training program in psychedelic psychotherapy for clinicians through Fluence. She is passionate about helping individuals prepare for and integrate psychedelic experiences as well as non-ordinary states of consciousness.
In addition to her academic training, Adriana has explored the ancient ways of healing through shamanic work, yoga, Qigong, mindfulness, and meditation. These experiences combined with her academic training have helped Adriana gain a deeper understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection as well as her interconnection to all beings.
How I work with clients
Adriana’s therapeutic style is empathic, warm, and non-directive. Some of the therapeutic approaches and theoretical frameworks that she draws from in her work include: harm reduction, CBT, CPT, interpersonal neurobiology, neuroscience, relational-cultural theory, mindfulness, and somatic embodiment. That being said, rather than following a prescribed therapeutic approach, she tailors her work to the unique needs of each individual.
