Dr. Melanie Malloy is an Emergency Medicine trained Physician whose path to medicine has fulfilled a childhood dream. Born in Tampa to a physician mother and healthcare administrator father, Melanie loved the sciences as a youth, but also felt drawn to the arts and humanities, eventually earning her B.A. in Philosophy at Yale University in 2002. There, her thesis focused on transcendence, entheogens, and meditative drawing. After a year in her family’s native Haiti as Co-Director of the Kellogg community education program at Hôpital Albert Schweitzer, Melanie was ready to embark on her medical studies, which she began at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. From there, she pursued an MD PhD degree focused on the molecular biology of battling oxidative stress. In her studies, she learned the essential role of natural foods - many of which activated the pathways she was elucidating - in health and well-being. Dr. Malloy trained in Emergency Medicine at Kings County Hospital and served as an attending physician at Mount Sinai Hospital where she was known as a friendly face whose patients instantly felt comfortable in her presence. At Ember Health, she feels gratitude that her career has again led to wellness, education, and helping people in their path to well-being.
