Ashley Wiscovitch, MHC-LP
Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor
New York NY
I’m a therapist who wants to help people live a meaningful and value-driven life. Working under the supervision of two licensed psychologists, I specialize in providing psychotherapy for adults in New York working through life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and loss, relationship issues, and psychedelic integration.
I offer both in-person and online therapy to adults in New York State. During therapy we will work on fostering authentic connection so we can dive deeper into your life challenges, celebrate your progress, and facilitate meaningful change. We will work collaboratively to identify clear therapeutic goals to provide a roadmap for personal growth. We will explore alternative perspectives and challenge self limiting patterns to open the door to new possibilities and empower you to make positive changes. We will also explore acceptance and work towards embracing your strengths and vulnerabilities so you can build resilience and develop a more authentic and fulfilling life.
Within Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, you can be introduced to non-ordinary states of consciousness, which can lead to profound insights and breakthroughs. By transcending the limitations of ordinary thinking, we can unlock new avenues for self-exploration and understanding. KAP facilitates emotional processing and release, allowing you to confront and address unresolved issues or traumas. This emotional processing can help you let go of past emotional burdens and create a clearer mental and emotional space for establishing meaningful goals. Through the integration process, We will work to make sense of the insights gained during the ketamine experience. You can connect these insights to your personal values and aspirations to ensure they become an integral part of your life.
I hold a Master's in Mental Health & Wellness Counseling from NYU, a Master's in I/O Psychology from CUNY School of Professional Studies, and a Bachelor's in Neuroscience from Columbia University (Barnard College). Prior to getting into private practice work, I provided counseling services at the NYU Center for Counseling and Community Wellbeing, which aims to provide comprehensive and culturally-sensitive mental health care to underserved communities. I started my career in neuroscience, conducting research on motivation and schizophrenia at Columbia University Medical Center and the New York Psychiatric Institute. Since then, I’ve had a range of experience, from I/O psychology to behavioral intervention for adolescents, young adults and their families. In addition to my work and educational experience, I’ve also participated in trainings for ACT and psychedelic-assisted therapy, and received certifications in relationship coaching, KAP from Journey Clinical & Fluence, and in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
I offer a therapeutic modality called Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in partnership with an organization called Journey Clinical. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help eligible patients experience more frequent breakthroughs and sustained improvement in symptoms. I take on the psychotherapy portion of the experience, while Journey Clinical’s medical team supports you on all medical aspects. This includes determining eligibility, developing a custom treatment plan, prescribing the medicine and monitoring outcomes.
