Additionally, I take on a mindfulness and strengths-based approach primarily drawing upon Internal Family Systems, Attachment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapy to create a safe space for you to share your story, process and heal difficult emotions and transcend them in order to live your desired life.
Hi, I’m Cathy and I am honored to support you on your transformative journey. I’ve always had a passion for all things relating to the mind, body, and spirit. I am a Peruvian American Clinical Therapist, Reiki Healer, yoga and meditation instructor.
I have experience working as a Somatic Therapist on the east coast and now California. I served as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington and American University where I taught Stress-Management, yoga, and mindfulness for 5 years. Having practiced meditation and yoga for over 20 years, I enjoy teaching others contemplative practices that have helped me manage my own stress and anxiety.
Your destiny is to evolve. I believe that we are all on a journey of becoming wiser human beings, learning from our past experiences. It’s been said, “We can’t stop the waves, but we can learn how to surf.” As a therapist, I draw upon my teaching and counseling experience to help you become an expert at surfing life’s challenges. Your healing journey begins with you sharing your story and becoming aware of your internal strength and resilience. When working one-on-one, with couples, or with families you will practice effective ways of managing stress, regulating emotions, and increasing happiness.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction support group for women. I offer a small open and virtual group Mondays at 5pm PST. This group is part educational, experiential, and dyadic. You are welcome to practice mindfulness based practices and connect with others for 50 minutes every Monday evening in a warm and nurturing environment. The cost per session is $100 with sliding scale fees also offered.
