I follow my clients lead while offering structure and support. Therapy can be hard and people don't always know what they want. For these people I offer more encouragement and direction. Some peopl come to therapy with clear goals and interests. For these people, I act as a resource and go where they lead.
Having been a Nurse and Nurse practitioner for 20+ years, I am transitioning to a counselling focused practice.
My experience lies with people who use illicit substances, marginalized groups (poor, racialized, gender non-conforming etc.). My medical experience combined with my counseling training and experience make me an excellent resource for anyone using psychedelics for healing and wellness.
In addition to prep and integration, I am, as a Nurse Practitioner able to prescribe and manage anti-depressant/anxiety tapers and medical clearance for Psychedelic Assisted Therapy.
