Hudson Elmore, MD
Psychiatrist
New York City NY
How I work with clients varies to some degree on each client and his or her specific needs and goals of treatment. Some clients I see only for psychotherapy, some clients only for psychiatric medication management, some clients only for ketamine treatments and for many clients, some combination of these approaches. I also work collaboratively with other members of a client's treatment team, including other therapists and psychiatrists.
What is always the case, however, is that our work together is collaborative and that I see myself as facilitating the process of healing in a manner that suits each individual client.
I am a board certified psychiatrist working in private practice with an office on 5th Avenue by Madison Square Park in Manhattan. I see individuals in person and virtually, and I am licensed to see patients in New York, California and New Jersey. Most individuals I work with live in New York City and Los Angeles.
I completed my adult psychiatric residency at the New York University School of Medicine and Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. Prior to that I received my undergraduate and medical degrees from Georgetown University.
In addition to private practice, much of my work has involved helping individuals who are in crisis and helping individuals heal from significant trauma. This has included serving as the Associate Director at Bellevue Hospital Center's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, providing therapy for LGBT asylum-seekers at the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture, providing mental health treatment to homeless women who have experienced trauma, providing mental health and addiction treatment to individuals with substance use disorders and providing psychiatric evaluations and treatment to asylum-seekers at the Program for Torture Victims in Los Angeles.
