Jacob McEwen, MA, LMFTA
Psychotherapist
Spokane WA
Our sessions will often integrate mindfulness practices and somatic techniques–all with the goal of becoming grounded in our present experience so that we may take steps towards meaningful change in the here-and-now. As a trained marriage and family therapist, I also work with couples, families and individuals of all ages. I seek to help clients understand the patterns and cycles which exist in all relationships, and how those are driven by both our personal and collective emotional experience. I am proud to work with the LGBTQIA+ community in Spokane, and am welcoming of all families and relationship types.
I am an associate psychotherapist, and honored to do healing work on the lands of the Spokane Tribe and Salish People. As an undergraduate I studied philosophy and theology at Boston College, which informs my existential and systemic perspectives on therapy. I also worked in Spokane as a case manager for homeless families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Following insights from those experiences, I earned my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University in 2023. During my graduate studies, I received training in neurofeedback, biofeedback and researched the impact of stress and trauma on adult functioning.
I am trained in Psychedelic Integration and offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) through Journey Clinical. These modalities may offer an opportunity for individuals feeling stuck to experience radical change through accessing their own innate healing capacity. Please contact me to learn more. I also work with local providers to provide Ketamine IV Infusions. I coordinate care with these providers and offer a sliding scale to make this offering more accessible.
