Medicinal Mindfulness Academy is a Colorado-approved Healing Center under the Natural Medicine Health Act (NMHA) offering regulated access to natural medicine services. We provide a structured, legally compliant environment for preparation, administration, and integration, prioritizing harm-reduction, safety, screening, trauma-informed care, and long-term support. Medicinal Mindfulness Academy also serves as the educational branch teaching psilocybin mushroom facilitation through a multidisciplinary modality combining transpersonal theory, mindfulness-based guiding practices, somatic trauma-informed care, intentional ceremony, and arts-integrated practices. The Academy offers over 200 didactic training hours, covering the full 150-hour didactic requirement under the Colorado Natural Medicine Health Act (NMHA), plus advanced practices in Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapy.

Training is offered in flexible formats: students may complete the program within either 6 months or 12 months according to schedule preference. Skill Development Courses Psychedelic Guide Training – a 12-hour live class series (6 classes, every other week) led by Daniel McQueen. This course provides a full Mindfulness-Based Guiding Protocol for psychedelic medicine work. Therapeutic Presence & Trauma-Informed Care – a 12-hour live class series (6 classes every other week) led by Alison McQueen, MA, LPC, ATR-BC, ACS. Focuses on therapeutic presence, somatic trauma-informed care, cultural attunement, risk management, and challenging situation facilitation. Saturday Seminars & Webinars In addition to the core skill-courses, the program includes 11 Saturday seminars offered every other week (each 6 hours, except 8.5 hours for Ethics & Regulations) covering modules like: All Things Psilocybin Mushrooms, Indigenous & Cultural Considerations, Screening & Crisis Prevention, Preparation, Integration, Facilitator Development and Self Care, Ethics & Regulations, Suicide Prevention, Group Facilitation. Over 75 hours of webinars accompany the training program, delivering advanced content: theory, practice, guiding demonstrations, psycho-educational modules. Practicum & Consulting Practicum: The Academy offers a 40-hour practicum in which students participate in three 8-hour psilocybin mushroom sessions (guide once, assist once, journey once) at the Academy’s own licensed healing-center site. This meets the NMHA practicum requirement. Consulting Program: After didactic and practicum hours, students may engage in consulting supervision: 42 hours over 12 months (24 group sessions + 6 individual mentorship) to meet the NMHA’s 40-hour consulting requirement. Support for Legacy & Clinician Applicants The program is designed to accommodate graduates of other psychedelic therapy training programs, offering individualized assessment of previous training for eligibility towards NMHA licensure requirements.
