Micah Hala, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
New York City NY
Each of us carries our own perspective and patterns—habits we’ve developed to navigate the world. Therapy offers a space to gently examine those patterns and, when needed, expand your toolbox with new skills and insights. The goal for our work is to support you in cultivating a deep and unconditional friendship with yourself. From this place of inner connection, you can access your innate strength, confidence, and capacity to thrive—even in a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming. Micah’s work is grounded in the belief that therapy, and psychedelic-assisted therapy can be a powerful catalyst for healing — especially for those with marginalized identities who may have experienced alienation from themselves or their bodies. They create space for trans and gender-expansive individuals to explore authenticity, resilience, and self-love through embodied and mindful therapeutic practices. Rooted in nearly two decades of Buddhist study and practice, Micah aims to bring a compassionate, grounded, and nonjudgmental presence to this work.
Micah is a queer, transmasc, non-binary therapist and trained meditation instructor whose work is rooted in a deep commitment to supporting those living at the margins—particularly individuals with marginalized gender and sexual identities. They earned their Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama over a decade ago, and currently practice in New York City, where they offer trauma-informed care, psychedelic preparation and integration, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and groups.
