Michael Vernon, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Chicago IL
I am committed to helping my clients find happiness and meaning, knowing that therapy can be a powerful tool in helping provide healing and connection.
I am fortunate to have a job that I really enjoy. I like meeting clients, learning deeply about their lives, and working together to help them meet their goals. My style could be described as down-to-earth, empathic, and actively engaged. I have been a therapist since 1999 and have training in a number of traditional modalities including psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, and parts-work. In addition to my Western background, I have a particular interest in Buddhist psychology. I have been studying Buddhism for 30 years and completed a two-year Contemplative Psychotherapy Program at Nalanda Institute. I am also a certified psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist, having just graduated from a one-year training program. I am now offering ketamine-assisted therapy and awaiting FDA approval for MDMA and psilocybin.
