Parita Shah is a board certified Physician Assistant that has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology from Michigan State University in 2010. She earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She has since become passionate about the treatment of anxiety and PTSD with an interest in psychedelic assisted therapy and integration. She has also participated in Dr. Gabor Mate's Compassionate Inquiry Program.
Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she worked as a medical assistant in India where she assisted people who could not afford treatment. Because of the strong feelings she has for health care disparities, she dedicates her time to people in need of help. Her desire to make a positive change is also reflected by work at Michigan State University. As an elected representative of the student government, she spearheaded legislative efforts to help underprivileged students pay for college.
As a Physician Assistant, she is passionate about community outreach, and she contributes to health care in a similar manner. She has conducted community volunteer orientations that emphasized compassion, professionalism, and quality inpatient care. She values spiritual, as well as mental and physical health, and enjoys yoga in her spare time.
Developing rapport, good communication, thoughtfulness, and treating patients like loved ones has led her to establish long, trusting relationships with her patients and colleagues. Her motto is that “Life is too short to not do what you love"; she has truly chosen a career that she is passionate about. With motivation, enthusiasm, and a desire for success, she enjoys working with fellow health care providers and collaborates with them to make positive changes in the lives of her patients.
