Phil Welches, PhD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience providing mental health and substance use therapies. He currently has a private psychotherapy practice in downtown Chicago where he works with adult clients addressing anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and/or substance use issues. Dr. Welches uses a person-centered, mindfulness-based approach to collaborate with individuals in exploring and resolving issues related to living with purpose and meaning. He is working with a physician in providing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to assist individuals with mental health and substance use concerns.
Dr. Welches is past Clinical Director of Illinois’ largest addiction treatment provider, past Psychology Director of Illinois’ largest admitting psychiatric hospital, and Center Director of residential and outpatient substance use treatment programs. He has provided consultation and trainings for treatment provider agencies, and is the author peer-reviewed journal articles on collaborative approaches to therapy, assessment and research. He is a past President the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) Chicago Chapter (2014-6).
