I work through a 2-eyed-seeing (Western/Indigenous), Neurodiverse-affirming, Existential-Spiritual approach, providing Psychedelic Harm Reduction Integrated (PHRI) or Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (PAT) to individuals and groups, with training and experience in Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy. I understand Psychedelics are powerful, but only one possible way of attaining mystical experiences, insights, and transformation, and have had my own or witnessed transformations of individuals, groups and even entire communities through dance, sweat lodge/hot/cold therapies, hiking, meditation, and animal assisted therapy (i.e. equine/horse), among others.
Hi, I'm Richard Tatomir (he/him/his). I am a "Therapist for Therapists," specializing in therapy and consulting to therapists and emerging leaders, as well as highly skilled in trauma and couples and family therapy, Clinical supervision, and consulting/training, including to organizations. I am Critical Incident Stress Management trained and often intervene with individuals and groups during or recovery from trauma/crisis and significant life transitions, working towards meaning and integration in the aftermath. I am a Neurodivergent Counsellor-Educator-Supervisor-Researcher living in Metro Vancouver/Fraser Valley/Lower Mainland area of BC. I am a White Settler of English/Irish, and Ukrainian/Romanian descent living, working, and studying on the unceded (stolen) traditional territories xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie), kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Qayqayt, Kwantlen, Stó:lō,, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen peoples. I am father to a toddler and husband to a passionate elementary school educator. I was born in Southern Ontario and moved to BC at age 6-7, raised by two social justice and disability advocates. I integrated Buddhist and contemplative Christianity Spiritual practices into my life well as Transpersonal Psychology, and have a good working knowledge of most major religions and philosophies, both ancient and modern, as well as psychoanalytic/psychodynamic and Existential theory, which has helped myself and clients glean deep insights from their psychedelic experiences.
Individual Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy (Psilocybin via a harm reduction and Spiritual/Existential approach which includes significant prep and integration), Day/Weekend Individual, Couple, and Group Retreats in Lower Mainland, BC, Assessment and Referral to Psilocybin Assisted Group Therapy (8-12 weeks) (via Gathering Groups.ca) or other Psychedelic group programs or trainings, Supervision/Apprenticeship/Training/Theoretical and Experiential Supervision/Research and Practice Consulting in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy for Therapists and Other Health Professionals
