Therapist
Duncan BC
Todd views each client to be the expert in their own experience. Todd believes that there is an inherent human capacity for healing, growth, and authenticity. From this perspective, Todd works with clients relationally, trusting that a strong therapeutic alliance is the first step to healing one's connection to self, others, and the world around them. Todd believes that a deepened connection with oneself and the natural world is important for wellness.
Todd is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC; BCACC; Registration #: 14233) with a background in psychology. Todd holds a M.Sc. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Counselling (University of Northern British Columbia), and he is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (Vancouver Island University). Todd has worked at various levels of the public service providing counselling and mental health services to individuals from across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds in 1-on-1 and group settings. He has training and experience working with LGBTQ2S+ clients. Todd is a strong believer that experiencing moments of solitude in nature is a key step in learning and coming into deeper relationship with oneself and the natural world. Todd frequently finds himself sitting by the river at the edge of an old growth forest feeling the deep connection between nature and his body, mind, and spirit.
Todd provides personal psychotherapy, mental health counselling, as well as psychedelic preparation/integration services. Currently limited to online, one-on-one sessions Todd does not currently provide Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy involving substances. Psychedelic preparation and integration sessions are informed by Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration Therapy and other modalities listed above.
