Alison Newvine, LMFT
Psychotherapist
San Francisco CA
My work as a therapist is grounded in a commitment to social justice and an intersectional feminist therapy framework that centers individual agency and empowerment. I am emotionally engaged and completely present with you moment to moment. It is this quality of presence and attunement that I believe is the catalyst for deep healing. As a queer therapist, I welcome clients of every sexual orientation, gender expression and identity, and relationship style/status. My practice is focused on supporting people with sexual orientations and/or gender expressions that fall outside of dominant cultural norms, and folks in non-traditional relationships- i.e. non monogamous, cross-cultural, inter-racial, age-gap or any brand of queer. I work with individuals, couples and other-than-couple relationships.
I hold a Masters of Arts in Somatic Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #115158. I am a member of GAYLESTA -The Psychotherapist Association for Gender and Sexual Diversity, and Bay Area Open Minds (BAOM), a psychotherapy association affirming relational, gender, and sexual diversity. I have trained in the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy and have completed Gottmann Method trainings focusing on trauma and infidelity. I've completed Fluence Academy Psychedelic Integration Premise and Promise training and continuing education in psychedelic assisted therapy through the Spiritual Competency Academy.
