We’re spinning through the galaxy on a swirling planet having appeared here out of nothing and destined to return to where we came from. What will you do with your time here?
Let’s explore that.
I work best with people asking some variation of the following questions: “What am I doing with my life? How did I get here? Why is this happening? Is this it? What the hell is going on?“ all honest questions and great starting points for developing more depth, meaning and purpose in your life.
I consider physical, mental, emotional, social, environmental and spiritual needs as fundamental to healing, growth and well-being.
As a therapist, my work is deeply informed by Jungian / archetypal and transpersonal explorations, interpersonal neurobiology and relational approaches, IFS or parts work, somatic / body-based approaches, and experiential / existential approaches such as Gestalt.
I have a long history working with those attempting to forge their own paths: artists, entrepreneurs, leaders, misfits and seekers, and have walked these paths myself. My work has centered around helping people navigate change, whether personally desired or forcefully thrust upon them. I’ve done this as a therapist, educator, small business/ social enterprise coach, learning and development consultant and through creating and delivering community-based, adult education programs.
I’m registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (Canada). I received my training as a therapist from the Gestalt Institute of Toronto and as a coach from the Centre for Applied Neurosciences. I hold an MA in Adult Education and a BA in Management Studies.
How I work with clients
Our work together will be about expanding your ability to take in your full experience. I don’t sit silently or passively throughout our session but instead lean into your world to contribute to expanding your sense of yourself, your patterns, your process and your experiences.
I believe in the power of the psyche to surface what needs attention and honor what arises as wise and necessary. I work with you to explore what’s there and to develop the capacity to integrate it into your life and worldview.
I am a therapist who uses coaching tools as appropriate. When it’s time to look backwards and explore your past, we do that. When it’s time to plan and take action, that’s where we go. But the overall goal is to help you grow and strengthen roots firmly anchored in the present because that’s where conscious choice happens.
Tools and methods we might use (if you’d like): talk therapy, dream work, mindfulness, humor and play, art and creativity, movement and senses, myths and stories, and archetypal wisdom through astrology or tarot.
