Amy-Lynn Gerber, LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Los Angeles CA
I work with clients on a weekly basis for therapy and psychedelic integration, and also offer KAP (ketamine assisted therapy) sessions through Journey Clinical.
For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with the human psyche, the relationship dynamics of humans, and how our relationships and life experiences shape and form us. In college, I studied sociology and psychology, and human rights, knowing that I wanted to help people one day. Eventually my life's path led me to pursue my Master of Art in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University. While at Antioch, my studies focused on spiritual and depth psychology, and LGBTQ affirmative therapy. I studied the ways in which Zen Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism, and the practice of meditation, can be integrated with western schools of psychology to improve mental health. Those experiences greatly inform the work I do with my clients. I began my career working in community mental health, which gave me the opportunity to meet and work with a diverse population of clients, where I learned a lot. I continued my education by completing the Los Angeles Institute & Society for Psychoanalytic Studies psychoanalytic psychotherapy program. As your therapist, I strive to show up as an authentic and genuine human being, in order to create a safe and trusting relationship in which you feel free to truly express yourself, say whatever you need to say, cry, laugh, curse, and practice being your most authentic self, which will trickle out in all areas of your life. I love to help my clients find more self compassion, confidence, hope, and inner peace. In my free time I enjoy being active, going out in nature, strength training and practicing yoga, listening to music, going to concerts, dancing, making art, traveling, and spending time with friends (human and animal). I am on a life long quest for learning, self-reflection, growth and healing, so that I am at my best for the clients I serve.
