Anahita (Ana) Kashefi, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
My approach is genuine, non-judgmental and warm. I provide a safe and loving container to support individuals as they explore, grow, heal, identify and strengthen their inner wisdom, and become more of who they truly are. I welcome the opportunity to work alongside individuals of all backgrounds, ethnicities and identities, and I strive to tailor my approach to match the unique experiences and needs of each person. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, depth psychology, attachment-focused psychotherapy, and mindfulness. My greatest honor is bearing witness to your courage, transformation and healing.
My journey in becoming a therapist has been deeply personal and can be traced back to my early childhood experiences. As a child of first-generation immigrants, I felt the complexities of multicultural identity growing up in a homogenous environment where I often felt alienated because of my differences. These wounds were an important part of my journey and gave me the gift of compassion and empathy towards those who have struggled to find belonging. As I was navigating my place in the world, I able to find solace in music at a young age. The instrument became my therapy and gave my feelings a vessel to process these experiences. This part of my identity has gifted me with a deep understanding of those who have pursued creative careers and endeavors. I know what's like to have a strong need to potentiate creative expression. I understand the dampened feeling when you can't express yourself in that way. My specialties and training as a psychotherapist include relationship counseling and psychedelic-assisted therapy. I am a Certified Couples and Sex Therapist through AACAST and I help individuals work through and heal relational wounds. I integrate alternative modalities of treatment for those seeking deep transformation and healing, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. I had the privilege of training with Dr. Phil Wolfson, a leader in the research and development of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy as part his Advanced Ketamine Training along with other leaders in the psychedelic psychotherapy field. I am a licensed psychotherapist (LMFT) in the state of CA, CO and UT, which allows me to see clients across all 3 states. I also facilitate psychedelic therapy wilderness retreats in those areas, as I believe in the deep healing power of nature. Please inquire if you are interested in learning more and I look forward to hearing from you. With compassion, Ana
