Angela Blesener, LMHC

Licensed Psychotherapist
St. Petersburg FL
PTSD, trauma, and overwhelming pain are not actually disorders. They are very natural responses to experiences that were too overwhelming to process. As a trauma specialist, I offer individual sessions, as well as private retreats, for individuals who have had overwhelming experiences that they just can't shake off. My focus centers on helping clients unconditionally accept themselves while processing trauma memories from the past that are causing present moment chaos. I also do not believe in pressuring clients to give up their coping strategies, substance abuse, depression, or face their traumas before they are ready. Instead, I support you in achieving your own physical and emotional health goals. I meet you unconditionally at your current stage of change, and we go from there.
Angela Blesener is a licensed trauma & psychedelic psychotherapist based out of St. Petersburg, Florida. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Shippensburg University. Angela is intensively trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Brainspotting, eco-therapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy and animal-assisted therapy. Angela also draws from mindfulness, somatic psychology, among other trauma-releasing exercises to release deep muscular patterns of tension. Angela was diagnosed with PTSD and recovered. Her life-long mission is to help other people do the same. She is looking forward to addressing any questions while providing an unconditionally safe, warm, and nonjudgmental space along every step of your journey.
In my practice, I use a variety of methods, including but not limited to ketamine lozenges, music, body mapping, brainspotting, nature walks, EMDR, and other experiential practices like paddleboarding to help you feel safe enough to process trauma. The beauty of these somatic modalities is that they create deep, embodied change, resulting in a reduction of your natural reactions to past triggers or stressors. They can also be expansive and allow you to reconnect with parts of yourself that you have lost touch with. I also offer psychedelic and trauma retreats. Options include scheduling hourly sessions on a weekly basis, scheduling consecutive hours, or opting for a full five-day intensive therapy program. During the retreats, you are the focus. Each day, you will be my priority, ensuring no interruptions in your processing sessions. There are no groups or pre-determined curriculum. The structure of each day is co-created to meet your specific needs. I integrate evidence-based interventions grounded in science, proven to be effective, and tailored to address the core of whatever you are struggling with.
