Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Athens GA
I work to assure that clients feel very safe in the therapeutic relationship. We may use activities like meditation or interventions like laughter to create a safe container. I will share with you skills and research while advocating for you to have access to the most up-to-date and evidence-based resources. Our process will be active and oriented towards achieving your treatment goals vs passive reflective talk therapy. I will inform you of the interventions available to you and help you identify the right treatment fit, while assuring that we make progress towards your goals.
Hello and thank you for your interest in my services. I am based in Athens, GA, offering counseling both in-person and virtually throughout the state. My journey into the realm of psychedelic counseling, particularly with ketamine, began in 2019 while working at a progressive substance use treatment center. Although becoming a psychedelic counselor wasn't initially in my plans, I couldn't ignore the positive impact it had on clients. I have a deep appreciation for the transformation process and find immense joy in guiding clients through psychedelic experiences. Witnessing individuals reconnect with feelings of worthiness and love is a truly beautiful revelation. While there are inevitable challenges, they play a crucial role in the profound healing I aim to facilitate. In 2017, I completed my master's degree in clinical social work at the University of Georgia, obtaining the qualifications to offer mental health counseling. Furthermore, I completed a year-long training program to become a Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy Practitioner through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (IPI). This intensive year-long certification program has equipped me to work with a range of psychedelic substances, including specialized training in MDMA therapy under the guidance of the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). I have undergone specific training in Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Personal Transformation Institute. Additionally, my extensive experience spans various therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). This diverse training enables me to offer a comprehensive and personalized approach, tailored to address the unique needs of each client.
I provide Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy using IV Ketamine, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy using oral Ketamine, and Harm reduction Integration Therapy. Harm reduction therapy means providing preparation (before) and integration (after) therapy for individuals who have decided to use other non-legal psychedelics.
