I am a mindfulness based Transpersonal psychotherapist helping people to explore beyond the self through a mindful, somatic approach. Altered states of consciousness can impact an individual mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Returning to the normal grind of everyday life after experimenting with psychedelic substances and plant medicines can be quite challenging. Adjustments sometimes need to be made by an individual in order to assimilate new knowledge and insights, and to regain a balanced state of wholeness and well being.
I counsel individuals who have either experienced or are thinking about trying psychedelics for a variety of reasons. I offer a safe, supportive space for people that hope to gain understanding and growth from their psychedelic experiences. I work with many people who have decided to use psychedelics therapeutically to heal from past traumas, to enhance their spirituality, to find life purpose, or simply to elevate their creativity and productivity at work and home. I assist individuals and groups in the processing of their journeys and to help them understand any challenging trips. Harm reduction is an important consideration with psychedelic use and as a result, I offer psycho-education with regard to psychedelics geared towards increasing awareness and reducing risk.
How I work with clients
I use several different approaches with clients depending on what is applicable to the work that we do. I use mindfulness as a foundation for everything because learning to become aware is the most important skill to possess when desiring change in ones life. I also use Hakomi, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, Shamanic Journeying, as well as more traditional means when necessary. It’s been my experience that being present, witnessing, and allowing clients to be whoever and however they are and to speak about whatever they need to is what makes for the most successful therapy process.
