Linna "Sandy" Kong (she/hers), LMFT
Psychotherapist / Psychedelic Therapist
Sacramento CA
I enjoy being a catalyst for change and healing. I strive to provide supportive, nurturing, and genuine care to all my clients. It comes from a place of truly wanting people to heal and grow. There's nothing more exciting than witnessing somebody exercise their inner courage. My goal is to be able to provide you with a safe space, a trusting therapeutic relationship, and a respectful environment for you to be able to thrive in.
My full name is Linna Sandy Kong, but I prefer to be called Sandy. My pronouns are she/hers. I am a first generation Asian-American and I have a very strong passion for helping others. I was born and raised in California. My parents are both immigrants, and came to the US, escaping a genocide in the late 70s. I have lived in different cities throughout the state of California. What prompted me to become a therapist was my own issues grappling with mental health - Anxiety, Depression, PTSD; living bi-culturally - trying to navigate traditional and cultural clashes, as well as growing up in a low socioeconomic area. Psychology saved my life. It plays a big part in who I am as a person and as a professional. I bring my life experience plus the knowledge, skills, and insight I've developed over the years into a space to co-create along with you, your experience, your knowledge, skills, and insight.
1. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a mental health treatment method that involves using ketamine’s trance-inducing and pain-relieving properties to help individuals work through various mental and emotional challenges.
2. Psychedelic Integration. Psychedelic integration is a crucial aspect, in conjunction to the use of Ketamine, as treatment and have been found to be more effective than just IV Ketamine. The purpose of Psychedelic integration is to generate understanding, make interpretations, and create meaning that come from the psychedelic state. Most of the time, journeys will involve messages, symbolism, metaphors, and analogies that could be difficult to decipher alone and without a trained professional. The therapist's role during psychedelic integration is to help you take the insights from your experiences and create sustainable, lasting change.
