Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Syracuse NY
I strive to create a space that feels collaborative, safe, and kind. I act as guide in the therapeutic process, rather than expert, as I fully believe that we all have the ability within to heal ourselves. My role is to assist clients in uncovering their own self leadership and innate healing abilities. I do this by helping clients to get to know the parts of themselves that have created turmoil in their lives, and work on deepening their relationships with these parts. When we can build compassion and curiosity for all parts of ourselves, we can find inner wisdom, healing, and release.
I have been practicing within the mental health field for 13 years. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Certified Child Centered Play Therapist, and an IFS-Informed Therapist. Though I now choose to only work with adults, my previous experience with children taught me a lot about patience, resilience, going with the flow, and meeting people where they are at. I use this knowledge daily in my work with adults (and their own inner children!). My previous employment includes working in community mental health centers for several years, in both therapist and supervisory roles, serving as Clinical Director in an eating disorder program, and working in college counseling. My current focus is on trauma, complex PTSD, and dissociation. Outside of my therapy practice, I am a friend, a daughter, a sister, and a partner. I enjoy yoga, traveling, going to concerts, being in nature, and exploring non ordinary states.
