Dr. Burke is a trauma-informed psychiatrist who completed residency at UCLA – San Fernando Valley and an addiction fellowship at UCLA – Semel Institute for Neuroscience. His work with many patients who did not benefit from conventional treatments and an appreciation for the healing potential of facilitated psychotherapies inspired him to begin working with ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and to join a MAPS-sponsored clinical trial of MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD. He is currently enrolled in an integrative psychiatry fellowship at the Integrative Psychiatry Institute to further expand holistic options.
How I work with clients
I view mental health treatment as a process of moving towards wholeness, and my role as a clinician is to help facilitate this development. At California Center for Psychedelic Therapy, I offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as well as individualized psychiatric services that can include pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, lifestyle interventions, nutraceuticals and integration of important experiences. For those looking for help with substance use, I have experience working in both harm-reduction and abstinence-based models and offer medication-assisted treatments including Suboxone.
