Neal Sehgal, MSW, LMSW, MAT
Psychedelic Preparation & Integration Coach
New York City NY
As your coach, I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I help clients identify and overcome limiting beliefs, develop new perspectives, and cultivate resilience. Whether you are seeking to improve personal relationships, enhance professional development, navigate life transitions, or integrate profound psychedelic or mystical experiences, our sessions will focus on practical tools and techniques tailored to your individual needs.
My focus is on helping you uncover your own answers by blending psycho-education with scientific research and established psychological models. Our collaboration involves mutually agreed-upon action steps after each session, transforming tools and techniques into experiential knowledge. I advocate for a finite course of work together, fostering your self-sufficiency and sovereignty.
I am a mental health clinician (LMSW) currently residing in New York, USA. I take a psychodynamic approach to therapy, rooted in transpersonal psychology and complemented by evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I also integrate holistic and alternative approaches, such as mindfulness, pranayama, and somatic practices, recognizing the importance of addressing the mind, body, and spirit in the healing process.
My own therapeutic journey has been deeply informed by experiences with entheogenic plant medicines in legal and ceremonial contexts in Peru and Costa Rica, including Ayahuasca, Iboga, Peyote, Huachuma, Bufo Alvarius, Cannabis, and Psilocybin Mushrooms. While I am careful to separate my professional work from my personal experiences, I find that both aspects of my life enrich my understanding of healing.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA) and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Montclair State University, and a Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Social Work Practice (MSW) from Columbia University.
