Nikki Braaten, LPCC

therapist
Saint Paul MN
Nikki Braaten, LPCC (she/her) employs a systems-based, narrative approach emphasizing empowerment and collaborating with individuals on their healing journey. She enjoys incorporating CBT, creative forms of mindfulness, self-care prioritization and family of origin work in her practice and strives to operate from a trauma-informed lens and practice cultural humility. Nikki particularly enjoys couple and relational work, family of origin healing and helping individuals grow in their confidence setting boundaries and asserting their needs and feelings.
Nikki (she/her/hers) relishes joining clients on a journey through the use of non-ordinary states of consciousness, facilitating and observing inner healing intelligence taking the front seat. In contrast to typical ‘talk therapy’ Nikki believes the use of psychedelic assisted therapy allows individuals to tap into their own expertise for healing and growth. Nikki has a Master’s degree in Counseling & Psychological Services, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Family Social Sciences. She has extensive training in trauma work such as Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and enjoys reflecting on and processing family of origin dynamics. Her curiosity has always been driven by the significance of personal relationships and experiences within family systems and their impact on attachment, identity, and how one experiences and perceives the world. Targeted areas Nikki commonly attends to include: family of origin dynamics, relational challenges, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, spirituality and stress management. Nikki currently works as a Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapist at the Institute for Integrative Therapies in Saint Paul, MN while also providing individual, couples and family/relation therapy at a group private practice. iit-mn.com https://elliefamilyservices.com/therapists/
