Reed Balentine, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Little Rock AR
Reed takes a holistic approach to mental and physical wellbeing, and incorporates techniques from yoga, mindfulness, acceptance and values-based behavioral therapies including ACT (Acceptance & Commitment) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior) to support individuals preparing for or integrating psychedelic/entheogenic experiences. Reed is a Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS.org) MDMA Therapy Training Program Trainee, with over ten years of experience providing Sitter support for persons experiencing averse reactions to psychedelic substances and seven years experience teaching Principles of Psychedelic Harm Reduction to staff and volunteers at Psychedelic Music Festivals.
Reed is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with Masters of Social Work and a BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies from UA Little Rock. Reed began practicing yoga and meditation nearly eighteen years ago, after experiencing transformative growth aided by the use of Psychedelic Substances. This internal investigation led them to pursue a career in Mental Health, in the hopes that they could help facilitate change for other individuals, groups, and communities through the integration of Eastern, Western, and Shamanic healing practices. After two years providing therapy for poor and indigent populations in a community mental health setting, and two years helping combat veterans reintegrate in a large healthcare organization, Reed decided to follow their vision and launch their own practice, EMPATH (Emergent Medicine Psychedelic Assisted Therapy) where they continue to provide Holistic Mind/Body Therapies and Psychedelic Integration Coaching.
