Simone Weit, LCPC, LPC
Mental Health Counselor
Nevada City CA
The cornerstone of my practice both personally and professionally is inspiring reconnection with self to deepen a connection with the broader world. I provide holistic mental healthcare that recognizes the interconnectedness between the mind, the body, and our social and ecological environments. Therapy that is responsive to the individual needs of each client, employing approaches from both formal training as well as intuition and attunement. I believe that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process and as such I like to collaborate with my clients to find the treatment approach that resonates with them rather than being exclusively method driven. Some teachings that influence my approach to therapy include mindfulness, trauma-informed yoga and somatic awareness work, expressive arts, EMDR, parts integration work, nature-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.
I have served a diverse range of clients in residential treatment, juvenile detention, high school student assistance programs, community behavioral health, crisis stabilization in a hospital setting, The Zendo Project, and private practice. I have formal training in both Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy through the Polaris Insight Center, and MDMA Assisted Therapy through MAPS. I currently work as learning facilitator and content advisor for the Synthesis Institute, a psychedelic practitioner training program based in the Netherlands. Additional experience includes over 20 years studying Shipibo shamanism, 25 years of practicing/teaching yoga and meditation, and multiple years of combined experience in service to children and elders in developing countries.
