Stephen Thomas, MSW, LCSW, CACII

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist
Fort Collins CO
Many of my clients are men, but I love working with people of all genders and identities. My approach as a therapist is person-centered, which places you as the expert of your life experience. First and foremost, I am here to support you in finding your way to greater self-awareness, empowerment, and clarity. With these enhanced, life can truly blossom. In my work as a therapist, I am continually inspired by the resilience and wisdom within each person I meet. Despite what our fears and pain may suggest, I believe we all possess an innate capacity to transform how we relate to our inner and outer world, guiding us towards more joy and liberation. This is true for you as well, and I would be honored to collaborate with you, step by step, towards realizing your goals.
Fifteen years ago, in my late 20s, I faced an existential crisis. The pain and shame of knowing I was meant for more—more happiness, meaning, and purpose—without knowing how to get there was overwhelming. At times, terrifying. With the help of others, I discovered my unique path to an authentic, self-led life. My mission as a therapist is to return that gift. I believe we all have an innate ability to heal from past wounds, rewrite our inner story, and reunite with a sense of self that feels whole, connected, and fulfilled. If reading this stirs something in you, the work is already beginning. I've been exploring the healing potential of psychedelic medicines for over 25 years, including over 15 years of personal work with ayahuasca following the Shipibo tradition. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker certified as a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist (KAP) by the Ketamine Training Center in 2019. Additionally, I serve as a KAP Training Course Director for the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute and am deeply passionate about ethics, harm reduction, and sacredness in psychedelic healing. I have been trained by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies in MDMA therapy for PTSD. I am also a longtime meditation and yoga practitioner and, on request, can apply mind-body techniques in our work together to foster deeper self-awareness and psychospiritual growth.
