I like to provide an adequate amount of time to discuss my clients concerns and to address any questions that may arise around their treatment plan. I spend 90 minutes in my initial intake with clients and do 60 minute follow-up appointments for medication management. I also offer 60 minute comprehensive medical and psychiatric screenings for ketamine assisted therapy.
I am a board-certified child/adolescent and adult psychiatrist who specializes in integrative treatments for mental health. I'm originally from Atlanta, GA, attended undergraduate at Davidson College in Davidson, NC, and medical school at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. I completed a residency in Triple Board (Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry) at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, and am a Diplomate with the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM). I previously served on a healthcare providers advisory committee for the Children and Nature Network and led a Prescribing Nature program for pediatricians across the United States. I have worked in both residential and outpatient settings with a focus on experiential and nature based therapies. My path to psychedelic medicine came from an early curiosity about the healing potential of plants and nature. I have completed training through the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) to provide MDMA assisted therapy to patients with treatment resistant PTSD. I also have basic training in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy. I am excited to bring psychedelic medicine combined with nature immersion both to the Southeastern United States and to the forefront of psychiatry. I live on the edge of Pisgah National Forest in Asheville with my husband, two children, and a menagerie of pets. In my free time I love to go to the beach and spend time in nature.
We offer a 4-6 session intensive ketamine assisted therapy protocol (with sublingual and intramuscular ketamine) for clients with treatment resistant depression, PTSD, addiction, eating disorder, OCD and other ruminative disorders. Clients who complete this protocol may continue with regular maintenance or booster KAP sessions. They also have the option to engage in a group KAP experience. We also offer a group KAP experience for Healers, including anyone in mental health, health care, acupuncture, massage, or energy work.
